There are more products that need to be considered when performing fiber optics
cleaning. A safe and clean area must be provided for all operations of fiber optics
cleaning. Some products that will help to accomplish this are clean gloves,
safety glasses, wipes bins, work surface covering, and anti-static protection. The
future for fiber optics may require equipment to be placed in a clean controlled
environment, which would mean both assembly and cleaning would have to be
performed in a similar or small scale clean area or tabletop hood. When trying to
achieve the lowest contamination to provide the best optical signal through
connector mating, then it is important to consider these other things in the work
and assembly areas.
